Borrowing & Access

Alum Library Members and Friends of the Library Members have the following privileges:

• Borrowing: Books may be checked out for a borrowing period of five weeks. A/V materials may be borrowed for one week. Items may only be renewed in person at the library. A maximum of 6 items can be checked out at a time. Library materials should not be taken outside of the United States, in order to ensure that they can be recalled in a timely manner if necessary.
• Library Use: The Library has extensive resources that are available to our Alums and Friends of the Library for use on campus including the use of six public computers, access to all of the library's subscription databases, such as PsycINFO, PEP-Web, streaming video and ebooks; as well as our excellent Reference and Special Collections. 

Note: While the Library Web site includes links to free online resources of particular interest to lifelong research in integral studies, library subscription resources (databases, e-books, and electronic journals) are only accessible onsite at CIIS. They are not available off-campus to Alums/Friends of the library members. For remote access to digital resources, please refer to your local public library. Many professional organizations also offer discounted individual memberships to the various subscription databases you may have accessed as a student of CIIS.

Alum Library Members members have all the privileges listed above in addition to the following:

• Reference Services: CIIS reference librarians may assist you with your research. Alum Members may use our online scheduler to book an appointment (this requires a ciis.edu email; please email IT for assistance in retrieving email login information at support@USWired.com.) 
• RefWorks: RefWorks is a citation management tool. Alum members with a mymail.ciis.edu email account will also have access to this program.

Interlibrary Loan Services are not available to Alum Library/Friends of the Library Members.
