Electronic Books

The CIIS Library provides access to thousands of electronic books ("e-books") available in full text via the Internet. To access them search the Library Catalog or go directly to the CIIS e-book vendor sites listed below.

When using ebrary and EBSCO e-books, search for complete books, then use the Table of Contents or Index to that book to identify specific sections of interest. The APA and Oxford University Press resources are organized differently -- searches retrieve individual chapters or sections first. In all of the CIIS collections you can search by topic keyword, author or other criteria. If you have questions about how to use these resources efficiently, ask a Reference Librarian by sending an e-mail to askref_at_ciis.edu.

In addition, thousands more e-books are freely available through various public e-book collections such as those listed below.

*If you are using an Apple computer, and are having difficulty opening the full-text, you may need to install a free software plug-in called Schubert|It. Please refer to this page for specific instructions.

**These e-books require a software download to view the e-books online or in the browser. You must have Adobe Acrobat and a plug-in called FileOpen. Download the FileOpen plug-in for free here: http://plugin.fileopen.com
