Only CIIS

1. Go to *Proquest Dissertations
2. Click on "More Search Options"
3. Click on "Browse schools"
4. Enter a "c" in box that comes up and click "Find Term"
5. Choose "California Institute of Integral Studies" by clicking "Add to Search"
6. Enter the topic you want to search

CIIS dissertations from a specific program:

1. Go to Library Catalog
2. choose Advanced Search (hint: this is under the search box on the first Library Catalog screen)
3. change the search criteria for the top search box to: Call Number
4. in the top search box, type: diss [for PhD / PsyD dissertations]
5. change the search criteria for the second search box to: Notes/Comments
6. in the second search box, type a distinctive, preferably unique, word or phrase from the name of the program
7. leave the connection between the two search boxes as the default AND
8. search

Once you select an individual dissertation, you can see the notes that list its CIIS program by choosing the Card View.

Search recommendations:

Since many CIIS program names include the word “psychology”, this is not helpful for specifying one program in particular (but is useful to find multiple psychology-related programs in one search). Program names have changed over time; the currently active CIIS programs offering a doctoral degree are:

• Asian and Comparative Studies
• Clinical Psychology
• East-West Psychology
• Philosophy and Religion
• Philosophy, Cosmology and Consciousness
• Social and Cultural Anthropology
• Transformative Learning and Change
• Transformative Studies
• Women’s Spirituality

CIIS MA theses from a specific program:

1. Go to Library Catalog
2. choose Advanced Search (hint: this is under the search box on the first Library Catalog screen)
3. change the search criteria for the top search box to: Call Number
4. in the top search box, type: thesis [for MA theses]
5. change the search criteria for the second search box to: Notes/Comments
6. in the second search box, type a distinctive, preferably unique, word or phrase from the name of the program
7. leave the connection between the two search boxes as the default AND
8. search

CIIS programs which have offered an MA thesis option in the last few years are:

Dissertations chaired by a specific faculty member:

1. Go to *Proquest Dissertations
2. Click on "More Search Options"
3. Click on "Browse advisors"
4. Enter as many letters of last name as you know
5. Choose faculty member by clicking "Add to Search"
6. Optionally, enter the topic you want to search
