Membership

All are welcome to become an Associate member of the Laurance S. Rockefeller Library. There are two categories of Associate membership: Friends of the Library and CIIS Alumnae/i.

Friends of the Library & Alumnae/i Privileges

Friends of the Library & Alumnae/i have the following privileges:

• Borrowing: Books may be checked out for an initial borrowing period of four weeks and may be renewed for up to an additional two four week periods, if you renew before the due date and if no other patron has requested the item. A/V materials may be borrowed for one week and are non-renewable.
• Library Use: The Library has extensive reference and other special collections which are available for use in the Library only. All online resources are available for use in the Library. See Library home page for hours.
• Online Resources: The Library Web site includes links to online resources of particular use to lifelong research in integral studies. Non-subscription sites may be accessed by Associates off-campus.
  (Friends of the Library Only: Subscription databases such as PsycInfo and full-text journal articles are only accessible onsite at CIIS. They are not available off-campus).
• Reference Services: CIIS reference librarians may assist you with your research. Request reference services by email (askref_at_ciis.edu) or in person (request an appointment), or online.

Additional Alumnae/i Privileges

Alumnae/i Associate members have all the privileges listed above and additionally:

• Online Journals, Books & Databases: Alumni may access online journals, online books, and all subscription online databases.
• RefWorks: RefWorks is an online reference manager / bibliography maker program. Alumnae/i have access to this program via their Associate membership.
  

Cost

Associate membership extends for one year and is renewable. For CIIS Alumnae/i, the cost is $25 a year. Friends of the Library may join for $100 a year.

Payments can be made in person (cash, check or credit card), via mail (check only) or over the phone (credit card only).

How to Join

Fill out the appropriate form for Friends of the Library OR Alumnae/i.  Remember, Alumnae/i whose names have changed should also include their name at the time of graduation.

Renewals can be initiated by contacting the Library Office Coordinator at (415) 575-6184 or by sending an e-mail to library_at_ciis.edu.
